Patience

Acts 1:4

4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command:“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.

We've grown into an impatient species. A microwave generation if you will. We want what we want when we want it (tongue twister). Thankfully God is not on our time. As believers, we travel a road less followed. A timely road most times. The Israelites traveled to the promise land for 40 years ... 40 YEARS! They traveled for a promise.

We may not know the 40-year waiting period but we have all experienced what feels like a delayed promise. We've been tired while waiting on our promise. We've experienced a few hurdles while waiting on our promise. We may have felt abandoned by God while waiting on our promise. I encourage you to hold on to his promise. Verse 4 tells us not to leave this place before we get what God promised us. He did not bring you this far to leave empty-handed!

Acts 1: 5

5 For John baptized with[a] water, but in a few days you will be baptized with[b] the Holy Spirit.”

This verse has me excited! Okay, God has given you something to sustain you. He's given you something to move mountains and create miracles. This gift could have helped your family, business, etc. However, God is about to send you something that is going to flip the script. This will be an upgrade from what he already gave you. This gift is going to take you places that your previous gift could not take you. ANNNND ITS ON THE WAY!

Be encouraged. Taking God at his word means understanding that he has perfect timing as well. He will not leave you nor forsake you. So, that promised you have been waiting for is still coming!
